UCO Bank recently launched new digital products & Current Account

UCO Bank recently announced the introduction of three new digital products and a new UCO Care Plus current account. The digital products are ‘UCASH’ (card less cash withdrawal from ATM), Digilocker facility, UCO MBanking Plus. The products were launched by A.K.Goel, MD & CEO, UCO Bank at the Central Staff College of the Bank. In the occasion Ajay Vyas, Executive Director was also present along with other Corporate General Managers of the bank.

IndusInd Bank spreads joy among underprivileged kids this Durga Puja

IndusInd Bank along with ‘Rotary Club of Calcutta Magnum’ and ‘Rotaract Club of Contemporary Kolkatans’ commemorated the auspicious festival of Durga Puja by presenting new clothes to over 1200 children from under-resourced schools and orphanages in a ceremony held in Kolkata. This is part of the Bank’s initiative titled ‘Ebar Pujo Sobar Pujo’ launched last year with an objective to bring joy to under-privileged children.

Customer Outreach Initiative is being launched PSBs

Customer Outreach Initiative has been launched in 400 districts by Public Sector Banks (PSBs). The first phase of the initiative has been carried out in 250 districts across States and the second phase will cover 150 districts from October 21, 2019. The initiative is aimed at reaching out to the public for catering to their retail requirements (Deposits, MSME, Home, Car, Agriculture etc). The initiative will also focus on financial inclusion schemes and digital payment methods to encourage consumers and merchants increasingly shift to these payment modes. Under this United Bank of India has organised ‘Grahak Sampark Utsav’ in several districts.

HP introduced the new HP Pavilion x360 in India powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processors is designed to manage
multi-tasking and demanding workloads. It is engineered for hands-free voice interactions with the built-in Alexa app. Consumers can control music, timers, alarms, calendars, smart-home devices. “The new HP Pavilion x360 with Alexa built-in is a first of its kind device for the India market and will empower consumers with the freedom to do more” said Vickram Bedi, Senior Director, Personal Systems, HPIndia.

EVI and Hilleman Laboratories partnered to assess a new Shigella vaccine

The European Vaccine Initiative (EVI) and Hilleman Laboratories announced that a multidisciplinary, international consortium has received support and €8.6 million fund from the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) to advance a safe and affordable Shigella vaccine. Dr. Stefan Jungbluth, Head of Business Development at EVI said, “This vaccine has been optimised for use in low resource settings andit is easy to manufacture and deliver.”

Atomberg launches Gorilla Renesa Smart Plus IoT Fans

Atomberg Technologies launched Gorilla Renesa Smart Plus IoT smart fans in Kolkata, which is one of the most important markets for them in India. These smart IoT fans; integrated with BLDC motor technology, are Wifi, Alexa and Google Home controlled. These fans will save up to Rs 1500 per fan every year and 65% electricity by consuming 28W power at full speed.

Sushil Poddar re-elected as the President of CWBTA

Sushil Poddar is re-elected as the President of Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations (CWBTA) for the term 2019-21 in the 18th Annual General Meeting. Pawan Jajodia, Rajesh Bhatia, R. K. Rathi, N. Kapadia, Pradeep Luhariwala and others are elected as the Executive Committee Members. In his message to the trading community, Sushil Poddar alarms about the onslaught of on line trading and increasing volume of bad debts amount due to unhealthy competition.
